The La Porte County Symphony Orchestra is pleased to present the opening concert of its 53rd season on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 7:00 pm at the La Porte Civic Auditorium. The program, titled "Dream of America" kicks off a season celebrating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The concert features saxophone soloist Nick May, a Kansas City based soloist who has soloed with orchestras throughout the country. May will solo on John Williams' music from the hit film Catch Me If You Can. Also featured on the concert is composer Peter Boyer's work Ellis Island: Dream of America, a moving blend of storytelling, music, and history brought to life by seven actors and projected images from the Ellis Island archives.

About the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra

The La Porte County Symphony Orchestra is a cornerstone of the vibrant arts landscape in Northwest Indiana. The orchestra serves the 110,000 residents of La Porte County and regions beyond, including Southwest Michigan. Now in its 53rd season, the LCSO has grown from a small community orchestra into a dynamic, professional organization of 60 musicians serving audiences from seven counties. Each year, the orchestra presents four subscription concerts, in addition to the Hoosier Star and Holiday at the Pops concerts. The LCSO's music education programming includes the annual Drayton Family Children's Education Concerts, which serve over 5,000 students each year, in addition to a Student Apprentice Program for high school musicians and numerous collaborations with area schools.
