How Do We Repair the History of City Planning?

Britt Redd's presentation will explore historic planning decisions that shaped our cities but led to racial inequities that exists today. Britt will discuss how policymaking and stronger relationships with each other can lead to the ultimate goal of healing, reconciliation and liberation.

Britt holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning and Social and Environmental Justice Certificate from Ball State University College of Architecture and Planning. Britt is currently serving as the Interim Executive Director for the Indianapolis Neighborhood Resource Center.

Jeremy Pekarek, Archives and Special Collections Manager at IUN

Archival collections are more than a compilation of our records; they tell unique stories. The archives seek not only to preserve these stories but help share them. Pekarek will discuss powerful narratives from the archives that help shape our community.

Jeremy has a Master of Library and Information Science degree and Certificate of Advanced Study in cultural heritage preservation. He is a Certified Archivist from the Academy of Certified Archivists.

Join us for a tour of the archives following the presentation!
