Presented by 1st Source Bank, the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra (LCSO) will present a concert on the 4th of July. This concert, which will be free to the public, will take place at the amphitheater in Fox Park in La Porte and will begin at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks, provided by the City of La Porte, will be over Clear Lake following the concert.

LCSO Music Director, Dr. Carolyn Watson, will lead the LCSO beginning with “The Star-Spangled Banner” and follow with selections such as “Star Wars Suite,” March from “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “Harry’s Wondrous World” from HARRY POTTER, all by John Williams. Americana selections will include “America, the Beautiful,” Sousa’s “Stars & Stripes Forever,” and the “Armed Forces Salute” which will honor our veterans from the various branches of the US Military Forces.

Joseph Giuliani and Kim Kurtis, 1st and 2nd place winners in the LCSO’s 2021 Hoosier Star! competition, will also join the LCSO to sing their winning selections.

“It’s been many years since the LCSO has presented a concert on the 4th of July,” said LCSO Executive Director, Tim King. “Our sincere thanks and appreciation goes to 1st Source Bank who is providing the support to make this a concert that will be accessible to all. This also will be a wonderful way to celebrate as we enter our 50th Anniversary season.”

“The LCSO is an important cultural resource in our community, and we are more than happy to be part of their 50th anniversary season in this way,” says Matt Vessely, 1st Source Bank’s Valparaiso Regional President. “We look forward to an amazing show and fireworks display in honor of the LCSO and overall, a wonderful 4th of July celebration that is sure to bring our whole community together.”
