The Munster Police Department held their spring semester Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Graduation ceremonies at Eads, Elliott, and Frank Hammond Elementary School during the past several weeks. In total, approximately 400 fifth grade students graduated from the program during this school year.

Our police department visits approximately 2,000 students each year through the DARE Program, providing lessons ranging from bullying prevention, stranger-danger, internet safety, drug prevention, following rules and laws, managing stress, using help networks, and making healthy choices.
The core (fifth) grade curriculum itself lasts ten weeks and also includes a DARE Role Models visit and ends with these memorable DARE Graduations. The program has been presented in Munster since 1988.
Our DARE Program would not be possible without support from many community organizations, residents, and businesses. Thank you to the many members of our community for your support of DARE
