Dear Neighbor:
I wanted to share some important information about an upcoming virtual town hall set for Friday, February 11, beginning at 6:30 p.m. (CT) to discuss issues surrounding Lake County's consolidated 911 dispatch center.
In order to participate in this virtual town hall, please visit this website to register online. You will then be sent a Zoom link (likely the day before the event) that will allow you to join in the discussion.
The significant problems with Lake County's consolidated 911 dispatch center are due to a staffing shortage and additional problems with the software system that has been in place.
In pursuing solutions to these challenges, I visited the facility last Friday with Lake County 911 Executive Director Mark Swiderski. Mr. Swiderski agreed to host a town hall to address the community's concerns. Next Friday's virtual town hall will focus on these and related issues.
As always, please reach out to my office if I can assist you or your family in any way.
