The mission of Opportunity Enterprises (OE) is to maximize self-sufficiency and enrich the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. Through the provision of a number of programs including, but not limited to, residential, respite, education-based day programs, transportation, daily living skills, employment and job coaching, OE relies on the generosity of others who help bring the mission to life.
Recently, several companies contributed matching gifts, totaling $30,000 in order to support OE’s overall Annual Campaign. These generous companies providing such support include: Steel Cities Steels, TCU, The Times, First Merchants Bank, Chester, Inc., 1st Source Bank, Urschel Giving, Centier Bank, and NIPSCO.
“OE and our Board members are extremely grateful to these companies that are completely dedicated to our mission,” states John Freyek, board chair for Opportunity Enterprises. “We saw an opportunity to turn their giving into a something that can include the larger public. With Giving Tuesday around the corner, what better way to engage others who care about OE’s clients and want to give to their communities while double their impact with a gift,” Freyek states further.
Beginning November 15 and ending on November 30, which is Giving Tuesday, Board members and other champions of OE will be sharing stories and messages on how the generosity of others truly makes a difference in the lives of the very men and women OE serves.
Individual donors help OE bridge the gap from what services the organization is required to provide to what programs OE clients deserve. Funding provided through the generosity of others supports quality programs such as education-based programming that is offered in OE’s day services. Linda, and OE client, participates in the organization’s Renewed Horizons program designed specifically for individuals who are 50 years plus with disabilities. Linda’s favorite activity while engaging in Renewed Horizons day program is when she learns and practices cooking with other clients. OE is able to provide cooking classes to clients as a direct result of others giving to the organization.
“Serving as Board Chair, it is easy for me to imagine what is possible for OE’s clients when we all come together,” Freyek states. “Everyone can be part of creating a world of possibilities – and OE and the Board is inviting everyone to do so!”
Launching on November 15 and ending Giving Tuesday, every dollar will be matched to help reach the $30,000 goal. To make a gift, visit //oppent.org/2021.
