On December 5th and 9th, Munster High School students served as Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Role Models at St. Thomas More School and St. Paul’s Lutheran School.
These students accompanied our D.A.R.E. Officer to speak with and answer questions from his fifth grade D.A.R.E. students on the topics of peer pressure, bullying, managing stress, using help networks, and making positive choices. The D.A.R.E. Role Models visits are held at the end of the 10-week core curriculum and as the fifth grade students are preparing to graduate, and it gives the students a chance to learn from older students who attended their school.
Each one of the high school students did a great job with mentoring the fifth graders while also providing them with valuable advice for the future. We appreciate these students for their assistance with the program and look forward to having more high school students participating next semester.
