Monster Jam is mine and my kids’ favorite event, we love going. The review crew and I have aged up a bit, we were looking back at pictures when I realized a hand-me down from my now 14-year-old returned to the most recent event with my middle, now 9. Look how they have grown.
My oldest has been attending on and off the past couple years so I think the teenage years is a teetering point for interest. The younger two, now nine and seven, are still super excited to go every time.
The consistent quality of the event makes it great. At the Allstate Arena they perform on a smaller modified space, but it packs a huge punch. The roar of the engines, the competitive edge between drivers, the talented driving and tricks are jaw dropping. If you enjoy adrenaline, fuel powered tricks and truck flips, this is the event to attend
Our favorite drivers, Grave Digger and El Toro Loco, did their dominating staple performances and we loved it. Tonight though, our favorite list changed, we experienced SPARKLE SMASH! Sparkle Smash is new to us, along with a few other new trucks this evening, she of course stuck out the most. This pink, purple and blue glitter unicorn truck with a confetti shooting horn, stole my daughters heart, and mine too, not going to lie. Sparkle Smash was the winner of the evening and deserved it. Monster Jam created a very inspiring and pro-equality truck, I think this will create a great girl fan base.
Monster Jam is very loud, as the kids have grown up, we went from the over the ear covers, to basic foam ear plugs and have not had any issues. It is also smelly (car fumes) in certain seats, but the place is well ventilated. I have always attended as a solo parent and managed the evening without a hitch. I used to carry a large grocery bag filled with diapers, wipes, ear covers, purse and a potty seat. It is a family-friendly event for all ages.
