Fans of folk-rock group Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young were transported back to the late 60s by the Marrakesh Express tribute band on March 8 at Theatre at the Center. Familiar tunes, such as Old Man, Immigration Man, Southern Cross, Ohio, and Carry On, were audience favorites.

The band created a hippie-era atmosphere through their clothing and hairstyles. Their harmonies were impressive as was a drum solo. Performers were Daryl Grady, David Varella, and Greg Ashby on vocals and acoustic guitar; Rick Hemphill on vocals and keyboards; Pete Calacci and “Joe Kidd” Baranowski on electric and acoustic guitars; Michael Flannery on bass Guitar; and Andy Sutton on drums and percussion.

Marrakresh Express has been performing for 15 years throughout the country. They now primarily perform in upper Midwest states.
