We're cleaning out our attic! Pick up some library furniture for your home, business, or classroom at the Friends of LCPL Furniture sale at Merrillville Branch in May.
All proceeds benefit the Friends of LCPL, who sponsor our yearly Summer Reading Program!

Hair Discrimination: There's No Age Limit

Merrillville Branch
Indiana University - Indianapolis doctoral candidate and Fortune 500 HR director Jantina Anderson will speak on race-based hair discrimination on May 4th, 11 AM at Merrillville Branch.
Anderson will present historic and current hair biases with vibrant images, physical examples, and data. Additionally, black women’s and girls’ hair narratives will be shared to illustrate the lived experiences of hair politics. Attendees will leave with an understanding of how responses to Black/African American hair texture has and continues to perpetuate racism in America.

Answer: Yes, we subscribe to the daily Post Tribune, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. They can be accessed online and in our library branches.
We also subscribe to Newspaper Archive, where The Times newspaper can be accessed from 1906 to 1977.
