Spring brings something for everyone
MEF is thrilled to announce the funding of over $17,000 in additional grants for Munster schools this spring, bringing this year’s total to a record $40,000!
This spring’s projects benefit students across K-12 grade levels, and a wide range of needs – from foundational academics to whole-child supports to co-curricular enhancements.

A few highlights of the grants awarded to Munster schools this spring include:
- Enhancing the Eads Elementary Leveled Library Book Room with additional texts in highly-requested topics, including multicultural biographies (George Washington Carver, Michelle Kwan, Cesar Chavez, Sitting Bull) and informational texts about animals (Metamorphosis, Super Senses, Invasive Species).
- Supporting WWMS students in building their skills in coping with challenges, maintaining positive relationships, handling strong emotions, and making good decisions through the Second Step Social-Emotional Learning Program so that they can succeed both socially and academically.
- Funding technology tools for Munster High School Speech and Debate to connect their members with their vast network of alumni dedicated to communication and competition. This will allow students to seek guidance from guest coaches far and away as they prepare for another nationally recognized season.
- Helping the Munster High School Chorale enhance the instrumentation of their year-end performance by bringing in local professional musicians. Be sure to check out their performance, which is open to the public!
- …and more!
