In between April 23-29, selected Munster High School students participated as Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Role Models. During these presentations, the high school students visit their former elementary schools to answer questions from and provide advice to younger students on subjects such as resisting peer pressure, responding to bullying, getting involved with positive activities, and the importance of making good choices.
The students either met with fifth grade students at the three public schools who have been participating in the core curriculum of the D.A.R.E. Program during the past few months or they met with eighth grade students at the two parochial schools who participated in the secondary curriculum this past fall.
The Munster Police Department would like to thank the Munster High School students who assisted with the D.A.R.E. Program this school year and hope that the fifth and eighth grade students enjoyed their visits and presentations.
