Recently, volunteers from the Choice Community Council finished the last step of their Community Mural Project by applying sealant to the wall in time for the winter season. Thank you to these volunteers for their assistance and to the many other volunteers who put in a large number of hours throughout the summer to make this project possible.
Thank you again to Lowe’s Home Improvement in Schererville which donated a large amount of paint, supplies, and equipment towards the project and our own Munster Public Works for providing the use of their equipment throughout the summer. We also greatly appreciate Terry and Patti Gibbs for allowing us to paint the mural onto their building’s wall.
Beautification projects such as this one are important as they show that their residents care about and take ownership in their community. If you would like to get involved with our Choice Community Council which organizes projects and programs aimed at drug, crime, gang, and violence prevention in Munster as well as various beautification projects, then please contact the Munster Police Department’s Community Policing Unit at 219-836-6639.
Please be sure to stop by and take a photo in front of our mural, located at Ridge Road & Meadow Lane, if you’re in the area.
