Chesterton High School students from the Industrial Tech/Construction class designed and built Archery Stands for Camp Lakeside.  Porter County Career and Technical School students designed and built a Gaga Pit for Camp Lakeside. Camp Lakeside is a brand new camp located on Lake Eliza in Porter County.  This day camp is designed to be completely inclusive serving school aged children with and without disabilities along-side each other.

Michael Koziczynski, CHS teacher of Industrial Tech/Construction, and Charlie Watson, teacher at Porter County Career and Technical school were thrilled to have their students participate in projects that are so important in our region.  Students assessed the projects, developed construction plans, and worked together to build five freestanding archery stands and an eight sided Gaga Ball pit. Both of these additions will last for years and will help to provide recreation programming to students and campers of all abilities.

Neil Samahon, OE’s president and CEO shared, “OE is so grateful to live in a community where people of all ages are eager to partner to create inclusive experiences in our region. It was so meaningful to have these high schoolers share their time and talent to help us enhance the camp experience.”

Camp Lakeside is a division of Opportunity Enterprises.
