These sweet and healthy treat baskets were designed and created by the Curriculum Development Team within the Staff Development & Training Division (SD&T). Since the pandemic began, this team and all the members of SD&T – the Recruitment and Retention team, as well as the managers and supervisors – have been instrumental in providing giveaways and giving back to staff at facilities all across the state helping to keep morale up during these unusual times.
The candy baskets were created utilizing the excess candy bars and healthy snacks from the Employee Appreciation event. Nothing is going to waste, and the team is being creative in finding ways to support these essential employees.
Each week for the past 10 weeks, SD&T has been recognizing Frontline Heroes, giving away Family Activity Baskets, #INThisTogether giveaways, candy bars and healthy snacks to all staff within the IDOC, as well as recognizing individuals with Silent Hero Awards, Courage Awards and Leadership Awards to each facility Warden.
In the coming weeks, even more recognition and giveaway events are planned for staff. It’s a team effort and we are all working together to encourage, uplift, and promote the good work being done by the Indiana Department of Correction.

These homemade treat baskets were designed by SD&T Staff.
