Where do Gary schools go from here?
How will Gary schools build on this progress and petition to end state control?
That’s the focus of The Path Forward for Gary Schools.
The Path Forward for Gary Schools is a two-year plan for continued improvement. This plan will focus on four areas: academics, engagement, fiscal, and operations. Every three months, the Gary Community School Corporation will share a progress report with the public about the gains made -- or not -- in each area.
As we develop the plan, we are asking for your feedback.
We will report progress on a certain number of indicators for each area, and we would like your thoughts on which indicators we should focus on. For example, should we use test scores as one of the ways we measure academic progress? Are three new committees a good indication of engagement?
You’ll see the draft indicators for each area below. Please share your thoughts for each area and any additional thoughts you may have at the end.
The deadline for sharing feedback is Tuesday, August 18th. We expect to release the final plan in late August.
