Parents and caretakers, your child will transform colorful pieces of paper into amazing origami models, and never realize the mathematical skill that is being reinforced along the way.
Creative Nature Camp for ages 6-12 (July 14-18)
Students will transform into investigative explorers of Art Barn's outdoor ecosystem where they will learn hands-on art skills and become inspired by nature's wonders. Young artists will learn how to sketch and draw from direct observation and identify colors and patterns found in nature. Colored pencil techniques, acrylic paint applications and more will be explored.
About Art Barn's Summer Art Camps
Art Barn Summer Art Camps have been a summer tradition for generations. "We have loved coming to classes and camps as a family for several years. It was the first time for my younger son to attend camp and he really enjoyed it!" said one of the parents of a summer art camp student who attended our Creative Nature camp in 2024.
Art Barn's Program Director, Melissa Washburn, works to create engaging day-camp themes that incorporate art, science, games, outdoor time and class discussion. "Our camps give kids a chance to not just make art, but to connect it to learning in other areas, like science and nature. From hikes on our grounds to observing plants, insects, and birds, kids are able to deepen their knowledge of the world around them, inspiring a love of learning as well as of self-expression. Every summer we love watching friendships blossom and seeing kids return year after year."
Each week of Summer Art Camp culminates with a showcase and refreshments where students can celebrate their accomplishments with friends and family. This provides an opportunity for the parents to connect with their children and experience their creations in the surroundings that inspired them.
