The Gary SouthShore RailCats (10-7) split Monday’s Memorial Day doubleheader with the Milwaukee Milkmen (7-9), winning game one 7-4 before dropping game two 4-1 at The Steel Yard.

**** Recommended **** TimeLine Theatre is well known for selecting thoughtful, intelligent and well-researched plays about real people, real history.  "What the Constitution Means to Me" is an excellent fit.  This play really is about the Constitution, at least playwright Heidi Schreck’s interpretation of that document which is an important part of our American system.  I doubt if many people have actually read it, she did.  Beth Lacke, who plays Schreck, has a warm and humorous touch.  I learned a few things – you will too.  3 ½ Spotlights  

The Schaumburg Boomers finished the opening homestand of the season by recording a 4-2 comeback win over the Windy City ThunderBolts to finish the eight-game stint at Wintrust Field with a winning record at 5-3.

It didn’t come without tension, but in their first one-run game this season, the Gary SouthShore RailCats (9-6) were on the right side of the score line as they edged out the Kane County Cougars (5-10) 3-2.

The Schaumburg Boomers drew 10 walks but did not record a hit until the sixth and finished with  just three while leaving a season high 13 runners on base in a 3-1 loss to the New York Boulders in the series finale before nearly 6,000 fans on Sunday night at Wintrust Field.
