This evening (12/24/2022) at approximately 6:45 p.m., the Lowell Regional Dispatch Center received 911 calls of a vehicle that had crashed into the I-65 scale house located just north of the Lowell exit.
This morning (12/24/2022) at approximately 6:30 a.m., Trooper Brian Runyon responded to a vehicle that crashed into trees on I-65 southbound at the 228 mile-marker.

On December 15, 2022, the 83rd Indiana State Police Recruit Academy completed its graduation ceremony in the Indiana State Capitol Rotunda. Opening remarks and commencement address were made by Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas G. Carter
After the commencement address, the oath of office for the 11 new State Police officers was delivered by The Honorable Justice Christopher M. Goff, of the Indiana Supreme Court. Each new trooper was then presented their badge and official identification by Superintendent Carter and his staff.
On Friday, December 23rd at approximately 6:00 p.m., troopers were working in blizzard-like conditions, maintaining the I-94 westbound road closure at the 22 mile-marker (Burns Harbor exit). This closure was for the hazmat cleanup of an earlier crash. While doing so, they witnessed a two-vehicle crash between a passenger car and a semi in the opposite westbound lanes.
