This morning (5/13/2024), just after midnight, Trooper Howell was patrolling Interstate 74 near the 20-mile marker. Trooper Howell attempted to stop a 2017 Chevrolet Impala for speeding. The driver, Lysirick Miller, 19, from Decatur, IL, failed to stop for Trooper Howell and fled eastbound on Interstate 74.
Chicago Fire II (3-2-3-2) dropped its first home match of 2024 in a 4-2 loss to New York City FC II (3-3-2-1) Monday afternoon. David Poreba scored the Fire’s first goal in the match, preceding an own goal by New York’s defense.

Chicago Fire FC returns home for a two-game homestand, playing two games in four days at Soldier Field. The Fire takes on Charlotte FC on Wednesday, May 15 before hosting the defending MLS Cup Champion, Columbus Crew, on Saturday, May 18. Wednesday and Saturday mark Chicago’s first time playing two games in the same week in 2024.
Although it’s not my favorite sound, I did enjoy Midwest Big Band presents “The Sounds of Sinatra and the Unforgettable Ladies of Song” at Theatre at the Center. My friend Helen, on the other hand, absolutely loved the show.
