Indiana Governor Eric J. Holcomb and State Health Commissioner Kris Box, M.D., FACOG, were pleased with the passage of the Next Level Agenda bills to protect Indiana children from lead exposure and establish consistent standards for investigations into Sudden Unexplained Infant Deaths, a leading cause of infant mortality in the state.

Indiana’s unemployment rate fell from 2.7% in December 2021 to 2.4% in January 2022—continuing a record low for the state dating back to 1976, when the current method of compiling unemployment rates began, according to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD).  

Due to the end of the state public health emergency on March 3, 2022, and a recent change in Indiana law, the last month that Hoosiers will receive emergency enhanced SNAP benefits is May 2022.
