Grammy Award winning icon, Shaggy will help ring in the new year at Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana’s Hard Rock Live venue on Wednesday, December 31, performing his most beloved hits. Doors open at 10 p.m.
Orville Richard Burrell CD, better known by his stage name Shaggy, is an acclaimed Jamaican reggae/dancehall artist, producer, songwriter, and actor who scored hits with the songs "It Wasn't Me," "Boombastic," "In the Summertime," "Oh Carolina," and "Angel." Throughout his illustrious career, he has received two Grammy Awards for Best Reggae Album with Boombastic in 1996 and 44/876 with Sting in 2019 and won the Brit Award for International Male Solo Artist in 2002.
For those who want something a little heavier, rock band Lit will perform a free concert on the Hard Rock Cafe stage on December 31 at 11 p.m. Lit is considered one of the preeminent bands to have come out of the post-grunge era of the late 90's and helped define an entire generation of SoCal power punk with hard-charging hits like “My Own Worst Enemy,” “Miserable," "Zip-Lock,", and "Lipstick & Bruises." The band has released 6 worldwide studio albums, including their RIAA Certified Platinum A Place in the Sun, and they are currently writing and recording to release new material.
Alt 101 will open for Lit at 9 p.m. Alt 101 is Chicagoland's premier 90's alternative rock tribute band. Fans can rock out to music from their favorite alternative bands such as Pearl Jam, Nirvana, No Doubt, Weezer, and more.
DJ Nasty Boy Noel will perform on the Council Oak Bar stage.
All three stages will feature a countdown at Midnight and there will be balloon drops in all three locations!
The shows on the Hard Rock Cafe stage are free. The DJ in Council Oak Bar is also free.
