Opening Reception
Mindlarking. Works in Collage and Assemblage
Friday, March 21st, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Free and open to the public
Finding inspiration in materials as varied as fabric scraps, vintage magazines, grocery store sale signage, and found objects, ten artists transform everyday objects and images into sculptural and collaged works.

The exhibit's name comes from the term ‘mudlarking,’ the activity of searching a river’s edge for lost objects and treasure. In our scenario, the treasure trove consists of free, abandoned material and the detritus of modern life surrounding us. In the artists' hands, throw-away culture is reimagined into a fascinating exploration of the object's relationship to other seemingly unrelated materials.
At the opening, we invite guests to immerse themselves in artmaking. At tables arranged within the gallery, guests can create a visual collage, a collage poem, or an exquisite corpse drawing. This interactive element promises an engaging and memorable experience for all attendees.
