The Power of Art: J.W.M Turner
One of Britain’s most celebrated artists, Turner's English landscapes made his name. Despite this renown, critics struggled with the darker side of Turner's paintings, including his increasingly informal use of paint and his critiques of 19th century British life.
Join South Shore Arts for a screening of Simon Schama’s award-winning documentary:The Power of Art: Turner and discover how an artist so universally loved could come to be so reviled later in life. (Run time: 55 minutes).
Art in Focus is open to the public and, thanks to generous support from Community Healthcare System, it is always free. Art in Focus takes place in the Main Gallery at The Center for Visual and Performing Arts, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, IN.
