Willis named American Association Rookie of the Year

The American Association announced on Sunday afternoon that Gary SouthShore RailCats outfielder Colin Willis was named the league’s Rookie of the Year. Willis is the second RailCat to be named the Rookie of the Year award and the first since Mike Rohde won it back in 2008 (Northern League).

Indiana State Trooper and Gary Police Detective Help Team Indiana Win Gold in Basketball at 2017 World Police and Fire Games

Indiana State Trooper, O’Bryan Winfield and Gary Police Det. Alexander Jones Sr., recently helped Team Indiana win the gold medal in basketball at the 2017 World Police and Fire Games held in Los Angeles, California. This event took place from August 8th through the 13th.

The evening starts off with a football game as the Warriors play Boone Grove at 7 p.m. The annual Tailgate Party, a way to connect with old friends and help support Bishop Noll, will immediately follow the game and take place in the fieldhouse.

The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced Friday that the club has acquired goalkeeper Richard Sanchez through Major League Soccer's Allocation Process.

Chicago Fire SC Acquire Defender Christian Dean

The Chicago Fire Soccer Club have acquired defender Christian Dean from Vancouver Whitecaps FC in exchange for $50,000 of General Allocation Money, an additional $50,000 of conditional Targeted Allocation Money in the event Dean starts 12 or more 2018 regular season matches for the Fire, as well as a percentage of any future transfer fees, which is on a sliding scale and expires following the first transfer window of 2020. Dean is contracted through the 2018 season with club options for 2019 and 2020.
