The Chicago Cubs today announced their 2018 regular season television schedule featuring broadcasts from NBC Sports Chicago, WGN-TV and WLS-TV/ABC 7.

Chicago Fire Soccer Club Acquires Serbian International Aleksandar Katai on Loan from Deportivo Alavés


The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced Tuesday that the club has acquired Serbian midfielder Aleksandar Katai on loan from Spanish La Liga side Deportivo Alavés. The deal includes an option to purchase the player outright and to extend the MLS contract. Katai will be added to the Fire roster upon receipt of his ITC and P1 Visa.

Gunn, Crosby, Willis highlight returning RailCats for 2018


Starting pitcher Alex Gunn, first baseman Alex Crosby and reigning American Association Rookie of the Year Colin Willis highlight seven returning Gary SouthShore RailCats for the 2018 campaign. Also returning from last season are catcher Wilfredo Gimenez, all-star shortstop Ryan Fitzgerald, third baseman Randy Santiesteban, relief pitcher Sam Myers and starter Jeff McKenzie. The RailCats also acquired five players via trades during the offseason, including infielder/outfielder Mitch Glasser, outfielder Jimmy Heck, infielder Luis Diaz and left-handed pitchers Jack Fowler and Onas Farfan. New signings for the 2018 season feature catcher Jeff Sneed, outfielder John Price Jr., and right-handed pitcher Chandler Jagodzinski.

The Chicago Fire Soccer Club unveiled its 2018 regular season schedule in conjunction with Major League Soccer on Thursday. The Fire begin regular season play when they host Opening Day at Toyota Park by welcoming Sporting Kansas City on Saturday, March 10 at 5 p.m. CT.

Renovation at Dove Hollow Marsh results in fishing rule changes


The Indiana DNR has removed the largemouth bass size limit and doubled the daily bag limit for all species at Dove Hollow Marsh in Daviess County. The temporary rule change will be in effect until Dec. 15, 2018.

RailCats acquire infielder Diaz in deal with Goldeyes


The Gary SouthShore RailCats announced the acquiring of infielder Luis Diaz from the Winnipeg Goldeyes to partially complete a trade from August 10th that sent right-handed pitcher Charle Rosario to the Goldeyes for right-handed pitcher Daniel Minor, four players to be named later and cash considerations.
