The Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR) has made the process of closing a business account easier on Hoosiers.

Scammers Using Indiana State Police Lafayette District Phone Number

First Sergeant Jerry Holeman of the Indiana State Police Lafayette District was advised by the Westfield Police Department of scammers using our district phone number to attempt to scam citizens of money or gift cards. The number they were using appears on cell phones and caller ID as 765-567-2125. There are many phone scams currently in our area, and know that the Indiana State Police do not serve arrest warrants by phone and will never call you to request money.

Please Remove Snow & Ice from Sidewalks to Promote Safety

The Munster Police Department would like to remind residents and businesses about the importance of following the ordinance relating to snow and ice removal from front sidewalk areas. If you do not shovel your walk or remove the ice, it blocks the route of travel for these students and other pedestrians and could cause them to have to walk around your front sidewalk and into the street or to slip and injure themselves.

Munster Police Department reminds Drivers to Always Stop for School Bus Stop Arms!

The recent tragic deaths of three children boarding a school bus in Rochester, Indiana provides another opportunity to remind drivers of Indiana laws regarding school bus stops. When approaching a school bus from any direction which is stopped with its flashing red lights activated and its stop arm extended, motorists are required to STOP, even on multiple lane highways.
