The Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR) is now accepting tax filings for the 2018 individual income tax season. Customers have from now until April 15, 2019, to file their individual income tax returns.

Attorney General Curtis Hill is warning Hoosiers to exercise caution before entering into financial transactions with solicitors claiming affiliations with local schools. In recent years, the Office of the Attorney General has received multiple complaints about scams involving fraudulent sales of supposed sponsorships benefiting school programs or sports teams.

Munster Parking Restrictions for Purposes of Snow Removal

Under Munster Town Ordinance 54-189, whenever there has been snow of two inches of more, in order not to delay the clearing of such streets, all vehicles parked on all streets of the town, except streets in the area bounded by, but not including, Manor, Hohman, Ridge Road, and the northern town limits, shall be removed by the owner.

Indiana to extend services for older foster youth

The Indiana Department of Child Services is using federal dollars to expand services for older youth up to age 23. Gov. Eric Holcomb and the agency’s federal partner – the Children’s Bureau – recently signed a certification allowing the state to tap into federal John H. Chafee Foster Care Independence Program funds. The certification follows an agency-wide assessment by the Child Welfare Policy and Practice Group (CWG) that recommended DCS extend older youth services.
