Hubbard Street Dance Chicago was a Fabulous Experience!

I’d never been to a performance of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, although I’d always heard they were an uber-talented company. I was delighted to attend the opening of their Fall Series at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance. The three-part program (with two intermissions) featured pieces choreographed by Jiří Kylián, Brian Brooks and Alejandro Cerrudo. I was in awe of the grace and strength displayed by the entire ensemble. 4 Spotlights!

Giordano Dance Chicago is known for Creative Jazz Dancing

I didn’t know anything about Giordano Dance Chicago when I went to their fall engagement at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance. I wasn’t all that familiar with jazz dance, either. The Giordano dancers are so strong, so talented, so creative, they absolutely blew me away! I gave them 4 BIG Spotlights.

"New Dances" - An Exhilarating Smorgasbord of Contemporary Dance

Thodos Dance Chicago’s 16th Annual “New Dances”, an exhilarating smorgasbord of contemporary dance performed on the main stage at the Athenaeum, featured nine world premier works by nine talented young choreographers. Thodos has a long-standing tradition of encouraging company members to stretch their wings and become choreographers, launching more than 75 company members into successful choreographic careers. In fact, Founder and Artistic Director, Melissa Thodos, introduced two highly successful alumni, Jeremy Blair and Brock Clawson, before the performance.
