URBAN GROWERS COLLECTIVE TO HOST MEDICINAL AND CULINARY HERB WORKSHOP ON APRIL 27

Urban Growers Collective (UGC), a leader in urban agriculture and policy in Chicago, will host a “Medicinal and Culinary Herb Garden Planning” workshop on April 27 at their South Chicago Farm (9000 S. Mackinaw Ave.) from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. As part of the organization’s overall mission to use nutritional resources to create self-sustainability and inspire healing, this workshop allows participants to learn about different types of herbs that can be used as natural home remedies or medicinal alternatives. Several herbs will be discussed including those that have properties to relieve stress and anxiety, aid in immunity and first aid, promote digestion health, regulate women’s hormonal health, and for cultural and restorative healing.

Public hearing regarding proposed interchange modification at SR 267 and I-65 in Boone County

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will hold a public hearing beginning at 6:00 p.m. (local time) on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at the Whitestown Public Hall, 6210 Veterans Drive, Whitestown, IN 46075. The purpose of the public hearing is to offer all interested persons an opportunity to comment on the EA environmental document and related materials for the I-65 enhancements.

The Kennedy Center Theater for Young Audiences on Tour presents the inspiring musical, “Me…Jane: The Dreams & Adventures of Young Jane Goodall” at the McAninch Arts Center Thursday, April 25 at 7 p.m. This production, based on the book “Me…Jane” by Patrick McDonnell, is adapted and written by McDonnell, Andy Mitton and Aaron Posner with music and lyrics by Andy Mitton. Using anecdotes taken directly from Jane Goodall’s autobiography, “Me…Jane” makes Goodall’s true story accessible and entertaining for the young—and young at heart. “Me…Jane” is recommended for ages 6 and up.

Emerald City Theatre Hosts Free Summer Camp Sampler for Prospective Students

Emerald City Theatre (ECT) hosts a summer camp sampler on Sunday, April 28 from 10 a.m. – 12:55 p.m. at The Menomonee Club at Drucker Center, 1535 N. Dayton St. Samplers for all upcoming summer camps at ECT will be available for registration. Samplers are scheduled by age group and show title. Each sampler is 25 minutes long. Parents are welcome to observe and must remain in the building. All summer camp samplers are free to attend.
