03/29/2018 - 23:00

More March events at Paul Henry's:

Sunday March 4, 1PM, Ed Brann returns with Rumba de la Region, a drum ensemble exploring Afro/Cuban rhythms. Cuban Rumba is a drum ensemble style of music, created by multiple drummers playing individual rhythms, in a conversational arrangement. Join us in exploring these beautiful rhythms, and learn how to talk with one another, through the drum.

Appropriate instrumentation will be provided. Experience is not necessary, but is welcome.
$5 fee for gallery support.

Saturday March 10, 2 til 9PM, opening of "Funkytown," original art by E. Charles Rolwing III. Rolwing's large, dramatic canvases are packed with vibrant, colorful symbols and curious, expressive figures that insist on interpretation from the viewer. Each of Rolwing's paintings embodies the motion of a world turned upside down, eyes shut in an eternal sleep walk, objects float in space, figures are inverted. And as you process and sort through the elements of each painting, Funkytown becomes your town.

Saturday, March 17, 2PM, Thomas Matecki returns with his quartet to host the monthly Paul Henry's Jazz Jam. After they play a set, guest musicians will be invited to join the host group on stage. Unlike the Thursday Jams a mic. and amplifier will be provided for vocals. Admission is $5. Donations for musicians and will be appreciated.

Sunday March 18, 6PM a six-band Punk Rock show will be held to benefit Haven House. Suggested donation is $6 or more (its for a very good cause). Proceeds collected go directly to the charity.
