The outdoor Summer Concert Series will conclude with a blues and rock mashup at the Gabis Arboretum at Purdue Northwest taking place Friday, October 1.

Gato will open at 6 p.m providing an unforgettable blues and rock experience. As a  Chicagoland Northwest Indiana music group, they perform all around the region. From covering artists like Bob Dylan and the Grateful Dead, this is an event you will not want to miss!

The headliner, Johnny V’s Wildflowers, will perform at 7 p.m. As a singer-songwriter who aims to stay true to himself and has reeled in many positive reviews, Johnny V. aims to pay homage to Tom Petty with this band. Sharing his voice all over the midwest, his talent is something everyone will enjoy.

Gabis Arboretum’s Event Coordinator, Peyton Lindquist, says “we’ve had a great lineup this summer for our concert series and are excited to end the series with Johnny V’s Wildflowers. We hope everyone can get out and spend an evening at the arboretum with great food and great music.”

Many generous sponsors helped to make this series possible: Trailyard Cafe, Indiana Beverage, CR Painting LLC, and Derek Braggs. Food vendors at the event will include Chicagoland Popcorn as well as Trailyard Cafe.

Adult tickets are $15 per person in advance and increase to $20 for non-members the week of the concert. Children 12 and under are free. Ticket purchases can be made at the gate or the Gabis Arboretum website, pnw.edu/gabis-concertsFood, wine and beer can also be purchased during the event.

“Revenue earned from the concerts is used to support the arboretum’s operations and education programs,” said Stephanie Blackstock, executive director. “Along with the entrance ticket for the concert, guests can visit the Railway Garden and explore the rest of the arboretum.”
