The show isn’t just any show; it’s performed by the Indiana Ballet Theatre (IBT) Company and members – an array of classic Broadway favorites. The live auction isn’t just any auction, there are once in a life time experiences that could take you to Spain, Tuscany, Napa, or the opportunity to own your very own Wine Cellar collection – to the highest bidder – syndicate bidding is encouraged and welcomed.

The Gala is hosted by Indiana Ballet Theatre and its mission is to raise funds for the Classical Arts Centre (CAC) Project –The Centre of our community. Located in Crown Point, Indiana at 2323 N. Main Street, the 20,000-square foot former sanatorium nurses home is being transformed into a community Classical Arts Centre for all ages.

The Classic Arts Center (CAC) is inspired by the Centre’s mission of becoming a cultural and community gathering place for visual and performing arts and culture in the region. It will house dance rehearsal studios, a black box theatre, spaces for local musicians to teach and rehearse, a café/bistro, and leased space opportunities for arts organizations and artists. But the facility design extends beyond the doors of the building and includes the surrounding space with various interactive gardens, and an amphitheater for concerts and performances.

IBT CEO and Artistic Director Gloria Tuohy and the organization has already invested $500,000 for Phase I of the project, completed spring of this year. The work included asbestos removal from the building, restoring and replacing 122 windows, tuck pointing, and renovation of the building’s exterior entrance.

Phase II, the interior of the building’s three-floors and basement renovation, is scheduled to begin later this year. Phase III of the project are the surrounding grounds. The projected completion of Phase II is summer of 2018. IBT is seeking donations and support from businesses and the community to continue the remaining project work. Events, such as the IBT Gala “Curtain Call to Broadway”, help to raise funds to complete the CAC project. “Our children and our community would benefit from what the Classical Arts Centre,” Tuohy said. “This will serve as a Centre for all ages and local businesses will benefit because it will become a destination spot in Northwest Indiana,” she explained.

Gala tickets are $100/person, and $1000 for a table of 10. Tickets not available at the door. The event will take place at Halls of St. George, 905 E. Joliet St., Schererville, IN.
