Edge Adventures Deep River Aerial Park is announcing several schedule changes. The park will be open during regular hours daily except Tuesday through August 13th. From August 18th through September 30th, the park will be open during regular hours on Saturdays and Sundays. During October, the park will also be open on Fridays from 4:00-8:00 pm for a night climb. Lights will be added to the course, and every climber will be issued a head lamp. The park will close for the season on November 4th.

Hofbräuhaus Chicago will bring the “oompah” of Oktoberfest back to the Chicago area with its sixth annual Oktoberfest celebration September 14 – October 28. Guests can enjoy a plethora of festivities including authentic nightly Bavarian entertainment, freshly brewed “Oktoberfestbier” inspired by the original Hofbräuhaus in Munich, daily food specials served by Dirndl-clad waitresses, celebrity keg tapping ceremonies and more.

Mimi Plauché, Artistic Director of the Chicago International Film Festival, has announced the first 25 films that will be shown at the 54th Chicago International Film Festival, running Oct. 10 – 21, 2018 at AMC River East, 322 E. Illinois St. The longest-running competitive film festival in North America, the Festival will feature more than 150 films from across the globe and bring legendary actors, master filmmakers, and exciting, emerging talents from around the world to Chicago.

Buffy Summers has officially left the streets of Sunnydale and made her way to slay in the Windy City. Just in time for Halloween, Replay Lincoln Park, 2833 N. Sheffield, is launching a ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ themed pop-up bar experience. Opening on Friday, October 12, the pop-up bar will offer guests the opportunity to ‘live a day in the life of a true vampire slayer,’ complete with doing (dreaded) research at the Sunnydale High Library, enjoying a night out at The Bronze nightclub, and even getting the chance to patrol the cemetery. On October 27, aspiring slayers are invited to dress up in their best Buffy attire for the ultimate Chicago Halloween Costume Party.

Chicagoland’s newest music venue and eatery, Hey Nonny, 10 S. Vail Ave., Arlington Heights, will officially open to the public Thursday, October 18. In its intimate listening room, Hey Nonny will present the best Chicago and touring musicians playing jazz, rock, blues, country, reggae, classical, and folk in ticketed concerts six nights a week.
