Navy Pier Unveils 15-Week Free Programming Schedule, Jam-Packed with Summer Fun for Everyone!

Navy Pier, Chicago’s year-round lakefront destination, is kicking off a new season of free arts and cultural programs with the return of the popular Aon Summer Fireworks and Live on the Lake! music series at the Miller Lite Beer Garden, plus a new live DJ music series, Wave Wall Wax, starting Memorial Day weekend. These programs launch a 15-week arts and cultural extravaganza at the Pier, complete with top local talent and world-renowned works in cinema, dance, music, public art, theater and more – all of which serve as the perfect complement to the many dining, retail and leisure experiences across the Pier.

Region’s Top Cover Bands Amp Up for ‘Party by the Pond’ at Chicago Premium Outlets

Chicago Premium Outlets today announced the return of its popular “Party by the Pond” concert series, which will kick off on Friday, June 15, with Chicago’s premier Beatles tribute band, American English. Also slated to appear at the center’s picturesque feature pond this summer are ultimate ’90s party band, Run Forrest Run (July 20) and ’80s-inspired standouts, 16 Candles (August 17).

Interactive Exhibit Bead Town: Along the South Shore: An Attempt to Break new Guinness World Records®

Nearly 15 million recycled Mardi Gras beads and thousands of participants will create a mural depicting northwest Indiana and Chicagoland at the Bead Town: Along the South Shore exhibit. The mural will highlight dozens of historic and iconic locations that make up the landscapes along the southern shores of Lake Michigan. The 3,311 square foot mural is the newest artwork by Bead Town and will attempt to set a Guinness World Records®.

PARKWAY BANK PARK ANNOUNCES LINEUP FOR “ROCKIN’ IN THE PARK” 2018 FREE SUMMER CONCERT SERIES DATES

Rosemont’s Parkway Bank Park entertainment district (5501 Park Place, Rosemont) will celebrate the summer season with the return of the “Rockin’ in the Park” free summer concert series. The weekly series is scheduled to begin Sunday, May 27 with a special Memorial Day cookout and live concert event beginning at 3 p.m. Free concerts will continue on Thursday evenings from May 31 through August 30, featuring music by classic cover bands, food and beverage tents on the park’s great lawn and a musical fireworks display after every show.
